Lab Work: Ask for Quest
One sentence to your doctor's office can save you hundreds.
  • 1
Ask that your labs be sent to Quest Diagnostics Say it when the order is written. It takes five seconds and almost no office asks why.
  • 2
Confirm it before you leave Many offices default to a hospital lab or an in-house draw. That default is where the four-figure lab bills come from.
  • 3
Questions about a Quest bill or result Call Quest directly at 1-866-MYQUEST (866-697-8378).

Got a lab bill that looks wrong? Send it to me before you pay it. These are frequently coded incorrectly and frequently fixable.
